Greg Nuttall is one of the founding CEO’s of the world’s waste-to-fuel industry. Prior to becoming CEO of Woodland, Greg was a partner at Rubicon Investment Group, a merchant bank focused on accelerating the growth of the companies it acquires and invests in.

Greg Nuttall is one of the founding CEO’s of the world’s waste-to-fuel industry. Prior to becoming CEO of Woodland, Greg was a partner at Rubicon Investment Group, a merchant bank focused on accelerating the growth of the companies it acquires and invests in. Before this Greg was co-founder and CEO of a leading change management consulting firm that helps large and mid-sized organizations in Canada and the United States. At the outset of his career Greg was an M&A and corporate finance lawyer. As a lawyer he practiced at Clifford Chance, one of the world's largest law firms, where he was based in London, and Torys, a leading corporate law firm with practices in Toronto and New York. Greg has also been a successful technology investor as a venture partner of New Economy Capital. Greg earned his Master of International Laws degree at Cambridge University and is a Pegasus Scholar.

Prior to joining Woodland Biofuels William White was the President of DuPont Canada (1,000 employees, $1 billion revenue) and had an over 30 year career with the global DuPont company in Operations (Director, Global Operations), Marketing, Engineering and leadership of global business units. William brings a wealth of operating experience to Woodland and is responsible for overseeing Woodland’s plant operations and global commercial development. A long time champion of sustainability, he has recently been working extensively with developing businesses, particularly in cleantech.

Chris Jamieson
Chief Financial Officer

Chris Jamieson has extensive experience in finance, operations and banking. His background includes 15 years experience as a CFO of both public and early stage private companies, including roles as CFO of Union Energy and Denison Energy.

Joel Kissack was a senior partner at Davies, Ward and Beck (now Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP), where over 14 years he practiced corporate/securities; antitrust/competition; and information technology law. He advised start-ups and some of North America 's largest companies on a complete spectrum of corporate transactions, including M&A, finance, competition and market analysis, licensing, and strategic alliances. Joel was listed in both the Lexpert Canadian Legal Directory of Leading Competition and Antitrust Lawyers and the Euromoney Guide to the World's Leading Competition and Antitrust Lawyers. He wrote over 20 scholarly articles in his practice areas, published in a variety of professional publications. Joel earned his law degree from University of Toronto and prior to that, studied engineering at the University of Western Ontario.

He was formerly President of Wisener & Partners (now Merrill Lynch, Canada), President of Triarch Corporation, Chairman of Elliot & Page Limited, and President & CEO of Canadian Venture Capital Corporation. Gary continues to serve as Director of several public companies.

He is a former executive of National Bank Financial and spent 12 years with that company, most recently serving as Vice Chairman from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that assignment, he was National Bank Financial's Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking (1999 to 2006); Managing Director and Head of Vancouver Investment Banking (1998-1999); and Managing Director, Investment Banking (1996 to 1998). David's other career experiences include positions at Salomon Brothers Canada from 1990 to 1996 and CIBC Wood Gundy from 1986 to 1990. David is currently on the advisory committee for CANFAR (the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research). David received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1981 and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1996. He is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors with the ICD.D designation.

Brian Mixer is an investment director at Middleland Capital. Brian works with technology companies in the food, agriculture and sustainability sectors. He led Middleland’s investments in and holds the board or observer seats in Aerofarms, Arable Labs, Agrivida, Aquaspy, Conservis, Groundwork BioAg, Rootility, Shenandoah Growers and Woodland Biofuels.
Prior to joining Middleland in 2010, Brian worked in finance and held senior positions in multiple US political campaigns. Brian holds a BA in economics from Bucknell University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He has an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Tom is also a member of Ontario's Clean Energy Task Force and the author of Waking the Frog: Solutions for Our Climate Change Paralysis and Kick the Fossil Fuel Habit: 10 Clean Technologies to Save Our World. Tom started his career as an entrepreneur when he founded Voice Courier Inc. in 1991 to service the emerging Interactive Voice Response market. Tom led VCi's expansion to over 100 employees in three countries.

As Managing Partner, Phil’s responsibilities include setting the corporate strategic and growth objectives for Covington Capital, overseeing the operations of Covington Capital as well as its Investment and Operations teams. Phil takes an active role in a number of Covington’s portfolio investments; assessing new opportunities and offering strategic insight toward meeting growth objectives. Phil currently sits on the Board or functions as an observer on the Board of several portfolio companies. Prior to joining Covington, Phil spent six years at Bank of Montreal Capital Corporation as Managing Director for a $400 million private equity group. Phil was head of the Technology Investment team, and sat on the investment committee, which was involved in the investment and approval process for over 60 companies.
